Everyone knows what a heart looks like. Or lungs. Or a skeleton. Yet the skin, the largest organ in the human body, affecting one in five people worldwide, remains almost entirely invisible.

That's where the idea began.

The Ceramol Barrier is the first anatomical model of the skin barrier ever built entirely from LEGO® bricks. Developed with the scientific consultancy of Unifarco and in partnership with Riccardo Zangelmi of BrickVision, Italy's only LEGO® Certified Professional, it took 22,883 bricks, over 400 hours, and 18 scientific and creative revisions to complete.

Launched under the hashtag #SkinBuildings, the project debuted through a social video and extended into miniature kits for dermatologists, pharmacists, and influencers. The model has since become a storytelling tool at trade fairs, medical conferences, and universities.

Science made visible. One brick at a time.
